- Implementation of high-tech assist systems in the home industry: modularity, flexibility, industrialization, Open-Building-approach;
- Remodeling and disassembly through flexible, modular systems (Un-Plug, Re-Play).
No specific previous knowledge required.
After successfully participating in the module, the students are able to:

- understand the relationships among the demographic change, the health condition of the elderly and the needs of the seniors,
- differentiate, analyze and apply different strategies for the development of assistance concepts in the home environment,
- identify and select appropriate solutions for certain diseases and needs of the elderly,
- develop original application scenarios to support older people in their living environment by implementing high-tech assistance systems.

The module will be held in the form of a seminar, in which basic knowledge will be provided in the form of lectures on the challenges of the aging society and the assistance systems to support a self-determined and independent life in old age.

The acquired knowledge about the problems of older people, their needs in old age and assistance systems to facilitate their everyday life will be implemented and further explored as part of an application task. In the application task, a suitable assistance system should be developed for a given age problem (old-age disease) and integrated into the living environment.

For the processing of the application task, which has to be conducted in group work (depending on the scope of the task), the rooms of the chair can be used during the module time. On a regular basis, the progress will be critically discussed with the students under the guidance of the lecturer. Remaining questions will be clarified during the discussions and possible solutions will be reviewed. The developed solutions / concepts will be presented at the end of the module in a poster presentation.
Für die Anmeldung zur Teilnahme müssen Sie sich in TUMonline als Studierende/r identifizieren.
If required, a literature list will be provided to the students at the beginning of the module.
